How long have you been in business?
Been in business since 2004 starting in Vancouver, BC and branching out to Whistler and Toronto.
How many weddings have you shot? How would you describe your photography style (e.g. traditional, photojournalistic, creative)?
With a team of over 10 professional photographers we average approximately 50+ weddings a year. The style is very versatile with an emphasis on a photojournalistic style.
How would you describe your working style?
Very professional and courteous. The entire team arrives on time or early for each event and wears mostly black dress-attire to be uniform and professional.
What do you think distinguishes your work from that of other photographers?
Since 2004 we’ve only been a stand out company for unique and edgy photography but also incorporated videography as part of an all-inclusive media company. There are very few companies that have successfully merged photo and video into one high-end and professional company.
Do you have a portfolio I can review? Are all of the images yours?
The images and clips found online are all the work of the entire team. Samples of each photographer or videographer can be presented during consultations.
What type of equipment do you use?
Currently the entire team is shooting with the most current and up to date bodies and lenses Canon makes.
Are you shooting in digital or film format or both?
We only shoot digital for photo and video.
Do you shoot in color and black & white? Both? Infrared?
All photography is shot in color adjusted on a computer during post-production.
Can you put together a slideshow of the engagement session (along with other photos the couple provides) and show it during the cocktail hour? What about an “instant” slideshow of the ceremony?
Slideshows can be done for an additional cost. Check with the photographer or videographer for a quote.
Do you have any other photographers who work with you on the day of the wedding?
All Urban Wedding teams work in pairs or more. To cover the entire event with the highest quality all primaries work with a secondary photographer or videographer.
Can I also see their work?
All samples are provided in studio during consultations.
Do you have backup equipment? What about a backup plan if you (or the scheduled photographer) are unable to shoot my wedding for some reason?
An extra body is always packed with each photographer. You can never prepare too much for an event so having extra gear is a must.
How will you (and your assistant photographer) be dressed at the wedding?
Very professional attire in mostly black. Dress pants, shirt and shoes.
Do you charge for travel fee if it is location shoot? What does the fee cover?
If the shoot is located beyond the lower mainland in Vancouver there will be an additional charge for travel expense. This can be discussed per location.
What packages do you offer?
There are many packages offered with Urban Wedding. Each wedding is unique and customizable to each couple. Most packages consist of 4 hour, 8 hour and full day coverage.
Do you include engagement photos in your packages?
All of Urban Wedding’s photography packages include an engagement session. Very important to build a relationship with a couple prior to a wedding date.
What type of album designs do you offer? Do you provide any assistance in creating an album?
We do offer prints with our packages. Custom albums can be discussed with the photographer.
Do you provide retouching, color adjustment or other corrective services?
There is always an opportunity to discuss photo retouching with the photographer before and after a wedding date.
How long after the wedding before we get the proofs? Will they be viewable online? On a CD?
Photos are all available 2-4 weeks after an event. Photos will be provided on hard drive. CD’s and DVD’s are unreliable and difficult for load time.
What is the ordering process?
100% of the photos taken during the wedding date will be provided on hard drive.
Will you give them the negatives or the digital images, and is there a fee for that?
There is no fee for full high resolution photos.
How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? Do you offer a payment plan?
50% is required to secure a wedding date with your photographer or videographer. The final payment is due at the end of the event.
What is your refund/cancellation policy?
There are no refunds.
May I have a list of references?
